Our Story

Nestled on the southern slopes of Mauna Loa on Hawaiʻi Island, Volcano Farm & Apothecary began as a small off-grid farm rooted in a passion for cultivation, self-sufficiency, and the natural world.

What started with growing mushrooms in simple still-air boxes has evolved into a family farm producing premium mushroom extracts, botanical tinctures and blends, and natural skincare products. Every product reflects our commitment to quality, thoughtful growing practices, and care for the land.

At the heart of our farm is a regenerative growing system. Our mushrooms are cultivated on nutrient-rich substrates made with locally sourced macadamia husks and coffee parchment. After harvest, the spent mushroom substrate is returned to the farm, enriching our volcanic soil and helping nourish the herbs and botanicals we grow.

From cultivation to extraction and bottling, our products are handcrafted in small batches with careful attention to ingredients, freshness, and consistency.
